Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has given a heads up to celebrate the Ganesh Chaturthi festival .

The permission to celebrate the festival has only been granted for three days.

On Sunday, September 5, Chief Minister Bommai, decided to allow the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi under certain conditions.

Processions and other entertainment programmes have been prohibited.

The decision to allow the celebration was taken based on the report of a technical committee.

Due to the surge in the COVID-19 cases, the celebration is allowed for only three days.

The conditions to celebrate the festival include the installation ceremony being simple and that the Ganesha idol must be eco-friendly.

There are specified instructions with regard to immersion, such as the idol can be immersed only in the place specified by district administration.

Lastly, the rituals and celebrations must wind up by 9 pm and the organisers of the celebration should be fully vaccinated.

Apart from the above, it is mandatory to take prior permission from the district administration or BBMP, in order to install the Ganesha idol.

In areas bordering Kerala, celebrations have been prohibited.
