Mangaluru: The Mangaluru City Corporation has made COVID-19 tests mandatory for hotel and restaurant staff.
Following the surge in the COVID-19 cases across the city, MCC commissioner Akshy Sridhar issued a statement, making RT-PCR test mandatory for staffers in restaurants and hotels.
The commissioner informed, “For public convenience, all the Urban Public Healthcare Centers have been conducting Covid tests in the evening. The general public, including staff of hotels and restaurants, are hereby requested to make optimum use of the Covid testing facility.”
In the month of August, the district recorded the state’s highest number of Covid-19 casualties.
