Beeralingeshwara festival: Devotee acquires coconut for Rs 6.5 lakh at auction

Bagalkot: A man from Vijayapura district is said to have purchased coconut for Rs 6.5 lakh at the auction held on the last day of the Beeralingeshwara festival.
The coconut which is placed on Lord Malingaraya’s sacred seat is considered to bring good fortune and thus many devotees bid for the coconut at the auction.
This year Mahavir Harake, a fruit seller by profession acquired the coconut. Harake further said that his decision to acquire the coconut was because of his devotion to Lord Malingaraya.
