Ganesha festival: Asked to follow Covid protocols, group manhandles cop

Hassan: A video of a police sub-inspector (SI) being manhandled by few people reportedly after he asked them to follow the Covid protocols issued for the Ganesha festival has gone viral on social media.
The incident took place on Friday during the immersion ceremony of the Ganesha idol at Sakleshpur.
The group, allegedly Sangh Parivar activists were flouting the protocols issued by the government by participating in the procession, dancing without wearing masks, or maintaining social distance.
When the SI Basavaraj Chincholli asked them to follow the protocols they allegedly argued and manhandled him.
