Belagavi: The former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) cabinet Minister in Karnataka and the party’s Kagwad MLA Shrimant Patil, who had earlier said that he was offered money by BJP at the time of quitting Congress, has now taken a U-turn.

Addressing the media persons at Ambadagatti village on Sunday, September 12, Patil asserted that no money was offered to him

The minister further clarified that the earlier statement given by him was mistaken.

He asserted that no money was offered to him by the BJP and he decided to join the party after being impressed by PM Narendra Modi’s governance.

Reacting to the earlier statement, the former deputy chief minister, Laxman Savadi said that he would ask Patil to identify the people who offered him money.

Meanwhile, Jagadish Shettar claimed that BJP does not have the culture of offering money for changing parties.
