Hebri: A man who was severely ill was carried on shoulders for 2 km by a team led by Hebri gram panchayat vice president, Ganesh Kumar Jarvattu, to a hospital due to the lack of a proper road in Kapoli, Hebri.
Thimmappa Acharya, a resident of Kapoli, was suffering from illness and was unable to walk. His family members could not take him to the hospital as there is no road connectivity to his house.
A road could not be laid as the surrounding area is owned by private persons and also because of deemed forest rules.
Ganesh Kumar Jarvattu went to Acharya’s house with his team and carried him on the shoulders for about two km and later taken by vehicle to the Hebri government hospital, after which he was admitted into the government hospital at Karkala for advanced treatment.
