Bantwal: 56-year-old woman jumps into pond, ends life

Bantwal: A woman ended her life by jumping into a pond in Kolnadu village on Monday, September 20.

The deceased is identified as Parvathi (56), a resident of Madakatte in Kolnadu village. She was reportedly frustrated with her life,

As per sources, Parvathi was suffering from mental depression and had visited a hospital in Mangaluru to get treatment.

On Monday when her family member came back home after work they noticed that Parvathi was not to be seen at her home. They went looking for the woman and found her footwear and spectacles on the side of the pond.

Out of suspicion, they searched in the pond and found the mortal remains of Parvathi.

In a report filed at Vittal police station in the taluk, the family members stated that Parvathi was deeply agonized by the fact that medicines she was consuming for her mental depression were not healing her condition.
