Byndoor-origin man hosts PM Modi for fourth time in US

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United States has a coincidental connection to Byndoor as NRI hotelier Anand Poojary hosted the prime minister and looked after his diet.

Anand along with his wife Sumitha who have lived in Washington DC for the past 35 years, run the Woodlands hotel. It is reported that Anand’s parents are the residents of Kallangadi Mane of Aloor village in the taluk.

It is also said that the couple often hosts eminent officials, including union government ministers on their visit to Washington. One such occasion being Friday, September 24, when the couple hosted Indian PM Narendra Modi for the fourth time.

The Prime Minister was served idli, vada, sambar and two types of sweet dishes for breakfast.

For the unversed, Prime Minister Modi arrived in the US on September 23 to attend the Quad summit convened by US President Joe Biden.
