Speculations rife over Captain Amarinder Singh joining BJP

Days after resigning as Punjab Chief Minister, speculations about Captain Amarinder Singh joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have started doing the rounds in the backdrop of his visit to Delhi on Tuesday.
Sources say that the Congress veteran leader is expected to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president JP Nadda.
However, Raveen Thukral, media advisor to Amarinder Singh, has dismissed the reports while claiming that the leader was on a personal visit to Delhi.
“Too much is read into Amarinder Singh’s visit to Delhi. He’s on a personal visit, during which he’ll meet some friends and also vacate Kapurthala house for the new CM. No need for any unnecessary speculation,” Raveen Thukral told ANI.
Meanwhile Amarinder Singh on Tuesday dubbed Navjot Singh Sidhu as a man who is “not stable” and “not fit” for the border state following his resignation as the Punjab Congress president.
“I told you so…he is not a stable man and not fit for the border state of punjab,” Singh tweeted.
Singh has been vehemently opposing Sidhu and has alleged that he has links with Pakistan. The former chief minister has openly challenged Sidhu, saying he will oppose him tooth and nail.
Sidhu was instrumental in the ouster of Singh, who quit as chief minister earlier.
