Shiradi Ghat reopens for heavy vehicular traffic

Mangaluru: In a relief to people traveling between coastal districts and hinterlands, Hassan district deputy commissioner R Girish issued an order allowing all kinds of vehicles on Shiradi Ghat from September 28.
Vehicular traffic through Shiradi ghat was prohibited since July 22 due to landslides at Donigal.
Following an inspection conducted to assess if the road was fit to allow heavy vehicular traffic, Hassan DC issued an order that allowed the movement of all kinds of light and heavy vehicles between Marnahalli and Donigal stretch of the highway.
