Mangaluru: In a shocking incident reported at Morgansgate in the city today (Oct 5), a youth sustained critical injuries due to a gunshot.
The victim identified as Sudheendra is a SSLC student. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and his condition is said to be critical.
As per reports, the weapon used in the firing is a licensed one belonging to his businessman father, Rajesh
The motive behind the firing is unclear.
City police commissioner Shashi Kumar and other police officials visited the spot.
Speaking to mediapersons, Shashi Kumar said that they will examine the CCTv footage to ascertain who fired the shot.
An investigation is underway.
