Muddebihal: Three persons who had gone in search of a missing person were tragically killed after the boat they were using came into contact with a live wire on Thursday, October 7.
The incident was reported from Thandgadagi grama panchayat limits in Muddebihal Taluk of Vijayapura district.
Shivappa Siddappa Ambalanur (75) of Haranala village in Talikoti taluk had been missing since Tuesday. As his personal diary and other belongings were found on the bridge nearby it was suspected that he might have jumped into the river.
The relatives of the elderly man, Sharanagauda Patil (30)and Yamanappa Saibanna Ambalanur (40) had rented a private boat to fish out the dead body. Reports said that a team from the fire department was also searching for the missing man.

The case occurred under Hunagund police station limits. Muddebihal CPI Ananda Waghamode, PSI Renuka Jakanur, Tangadi PDO Umesh Rathod visited the spot for investigations.
At the time of publication, officials and staff of the Muddebihal fire station were continuing their search for the missing elderly man.
