Mangaluru: President Kovind departs for Sringeri

Mangaluru: President Ramnath Kovind departed for Sringeri via a helicopter from Mangalore International Airport on Friday morning. He was accompanied by Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot.

The President is on a 3-day official visit to the state. Earlier yesterday he inaugurated the newly built Teaching Hospital of the Chamarajanagar Institute of Medical Sciences at Chamarajanagar.

Kovind arrived in Mangaluru on Wednesday night and stayed at circuit house overnight. He is expected to return to Managluru in the evening today before departing for New Delhi on October 9 morning.

Police have beefed up security on the route from the airport to the circuit house for security reasons.
