Bengaluru: A 42-year-old woman was allegedly cheated of Rs 10 lakh by three people under the pretext of helping her buy a second-hand Audi A3 car in Bengaluru.

One of the accused was reportedly the woman’s son’s friend, Rudresh, whom she claimed she had asked for help as he was in the business of dealing with used cars.

Rudresh arranged a meeting between her and an individual who claimed he is a finance company manager level employee.

On September 2, they showed the woman a second-hand Audi and she agreed to buy the car at a price of Rs 19 lakh.

The woman did a payment of Rs 10 lakh for the car on September 4 and applied for a loan amount worth Rs 9 lakh.

However,  the trio neither returned the money nor delivered the car to the woman.  After which, she filed a police complaint at Banaswadi police station.
