Mangaluru: Cops arrest five for murder of 20-year-old youth at a lodge

Mangaluru: Police officials have arrested five persons in connection with the murder of a youth at a lodge in the city on October 16 morning. One more accused is currently absconding.
The deceased youth has been identified as Dhanush (20). It is said that Dhanush, along with his friends Prameet, Jason, Karthik, Dhanush, Durgesh and Prajwal had gone to a lodge near Pumpwell for celebrating the festival on October 15.
At about 2 PM, a scuffle broke out between Jason Surthkal and Dhanush. In the heat of the moment, Jason stabbed the victim with a button knife
Dhanush was immediately rushed to the nearby Indiana hospital with serious injuries however, he breathed his last on the way to the hospital.
Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that Dhanush had a habit of speaking lightly about family members of his friends. The accused had earlier warned Dhanush and the argument took place on the same issue.
