Mangaluru: Auto rickshaw driver kills self by jumping into river

Mangaluru: In another case of an apparent suicide, a man lost his life by jumping off the Gurpur bridge into the river below on Monday, October 18.

The person has been identified as Sathish Poojary (32), an auto-rickshaw driver in the city. He lived with his wife at a house near Ganjimath-Malali cross, reports said.

The body is yet to be traced. The Bajpe police along with the help from locals are still searching the river for the mortal remains.

Sources said that the victim earlier ran a push-cart-based fast food establishment at Ganjimath junction.  Family-related issues are suspected to be the cause of the suicide, police sources said.
