Fugitive gangster Suresh Poojari arrested in Philippines

Fugitive gangster Suresh Poojari has reportedly been arrested by the Interpol police in the Philippines on October 15.
Sources revealed that the news of his arrest was conveyed to the Indian government by Interpol and Philippine authorities. Efforts are now underway to extradite him to India.
A native of Malpe, Suresh Pujari was a close associate of gangster Ravi Pujari until they parted ways about ten years ago. Suresh later formed his own gang and would make threat, extortion calls to dance bar owners, businessmen in Mumbai, Ulhasnagar, Dombivil, Thane.
He had fled India around 2008. Thane and Mumbai police had issued a red corner notice against him in 2017 and 2018 respectively following a rise in extortion activities.
In 2015, his men shot dead cable operator Sachanand Karira in Ulhasnagar after he failed to pay up Rs 5 crore. In 2018, his sharpshooter fired at the KN Park Hotel on the Kalyan-Bhiwandi highway resulting in the death of an employee sitting at the reception.
It is gathered that he has 8 passports in fake names and was living in different countries.
