Karkala: Police raid house; Rescue cattle intended for slaughter

Karkala: In a case related to illegal cow slaughter, police confiscated beef meat from a house and rescued cattle that were intended for slaughter at Sankalakariya of Mundkoor village in the taluk on Friday, October 22.
Personnel of the Karkala Rural Police Station who raided the house of Rahim on a credible tip rescued five cows and three calves that were tied in the fields. They were allegedly procured for slaughter, reports said.
Police also confiscated beef weighing 25kg during the raid.
The rescued cows were handed over to a goshala for their upkeep and a case has been registered at the Karkala Rural Police Station.
