Soraba: Former chief minister and leader of opposition Siddaramaiah on Friday said that the BJP government has imposed an undeclared emergency in India.
Speaking to the reporters, Siddaramaiah said, “The situation in India is so bad that none can speak the truth. Recently, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police as she headed to meet the families of four farmers killed in the wake of violence during an anti-farm laws protest. IT department is conducting raids on those who speak against BJP. People will give a befitting reply to BJP in the next polls.”
“Congress will send a strong message to its detractors by winning the bypolls in Hangal and Sindgi,” he added.
He further said, ” Modi said he will bring Acche din. Where are the Acche din? Prices of commodities are increasing day by day. The BJP is justifying the petrol and diesel price hike. During the Manmohan Singh government, The price of crude oil was Rs 125 per barrel, the petrol price was Rs 69.70 and the diesel price was Rs 47. The government also did not build a single home for the poor. I have invited the chief minister for a debate on the issue.”
Talking about Madhu Bangarappa’s entry into the Congress, he said, ” Earlier, when Madhu Bangarappa was in JDS, it was like “Right person in the wrong party” Now as he has joined Congress party, we can say “Right person in the right party” Congress gives equal opportunities to all its leaders.”
Taking a jibe at JDS party, Siddaramaiah said, “JDS party was not built by Devegowda alone, me including several other leaders have worked hard for the party. Now, JDS has become JDF party, here ‘F’ stands for Family. ”
