Hanagal bypolls: Sluggish voter turnout observed in the morning

Haveri: Voting for the by-election to the Hangal assembly constituency began from 7 am on Saturday. However, the pace of polling was slow in the morning.
The voter turnout of 24.31 percent was reported from the 263 polling booths till 11 AM.
For smooth voting, the election commission has installed polling stations at 239 original and 24 additional locations spread across the constituency.
Congress candidate Shrinivas Mane cast his vote at the polling booth in Kumareshwar Nagar in Hanagal town.
The voting has proceeded peacefully until 1 PM and turnout reached 44.59 percent, reports said.
