Bengaluru: A retired professor allegedly lost Rs 3 lakh after being hoodwinked by miscreants who promised him a ‘bar license’ in Bengaluru.
The victim has been identified as Prof Shivu, a resident of Rajajinagar D Block. It is said that after retirement he wanted to open a bar and approached a friend, Chandru to get a bar license.
Chandru introduced him to Trisha who assured him that he would get a bar license and asked him to arrange Rs 5 lakhs.
Trisha was regularly in touch with Shivu and one day she said that the license was ready asked him to meet her. When the professor went to receive the bar license, two men took him to a house where Trisha was there and accused him of having an affair with Trisha.
They threatened him and demanded Rs 5 lakh from him. They then forced him to call his son-in-law and asked him to bring Rs 3 lakh near Laggere bridge.
Police officials have arrested Trisha and her boyfriend Muttu in connection with the case.
