Hunsur: Nine-year-old boy kidnapped, murdered; Accused arrested

Hunsur: A nine-year-old boy was kidnapped and murdered by a man in Hanagodu in the Taluk. The accused was arrested after a 24-hour-long manhunt.

It is said that the victim was the son of a vegetable vendor and was kidnapped from his house on Wednesday at 7 pm.

The kidnapper demanded a Rs 4 lakh ransom from the victim’s father. The victim’s father then filed a police complaint.

The culprit prepared himself to collect the ransom. But due to the fear of getting identified, he killed the boy and dumped his body near a river in the village.

The case was cracked following a major operation carried out by SP Chethan, Addl SP Shivakumar under the guidance of Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravikumar.  The accused was arrested by the police.
