Kundapur: Explosion in car-shed kills man, wife critical

Kundapur: A man died of burn injuries while his wife continues to be in a critical condition following an explosion in their car shed at Beloor village here recently.

The deceased has been identified as Dinesh Shetty, resident of Dhanyadi Hebbagilu House. His wife Vasanthi Shetty is undergoing treatment at Manipal hospital and is said to be in a critical condition.

According to reports, few explosives had been stored in the car shed, adjoining Dinesh’s residence. The impact of the explosion damaged the car kept in the shed and also the electrical fittings and windows of the kitchen.

Dinesh and Vasanthi suffered severe burn injuries in the mishap and were rushed to the hospital. However, Dinesh passed away on Wednesday without responding to the treatment.
