Udupi: A conductor of a private bus here was arrested on November 11, for allegedly misbehaving with female commuters.

Reports said that the accused Upendra aka Uma Sahakar had the habit of harassing and misbehaving with the ladies and female students travelling on the bus.

On November 6, staff of a nursing college travelling on the bus, noticed his indecent behaviour near Tenkanidiyur. The staff along with locals caught hold of him and flogged him.

However, the police could not take any action at the time as nobody registered a complaint against the accused. Later, the hostel management lodged a complaint and Udupit town police arrested the accused.
