Bengaluru: Police officials have arrested six people, including two fake cops for allegedly robbing a 26-year-old government job aspirant.

The accused have been identified as HV Ajay Kumar alias Mohan, (41) of Avalahalli, Jnanamurthy R, (42) of Yelahanka, BK Ravichandra, (36) of Harohalli near Anugondanahalli, Murugesh S, (27) of Bairasandra near Malur, Muniraju G, (33) of Kudiyanur and Kumaraswamy R, (38) of Agrahara near Yelahanka.

They were arrested based on a complaint filed by the 26-year-old man identified as Gopala Mallappa Kambale. The prime accused Shivakumar is still absoconding.

Kambale met Shivakumar four years ago in Goa and recently Shivakumar assured him of a government job if he arranges Rs 10 lakh.

On October 8, Kambale along with his friend Mahesh came with the money to Hoskote and called Shivakumar who told him to board a car that would be sent by his friend Mohan.

Later, two people with walkie-talkies, lathis, wearing caps intercepted their car and boarded it. The driver told them they are policemen and within a few minutes, the duo snatched Kambale’s bag containing cash and dumped them near Devanagundi Cross before speeding away.

Police arrested the six accused and recovered Rs 7 lakh, two cars, walkie-talkie, caps, lathis and six mobile phones from them.
