Karnataka Legislative Council elections: Draft electoral roll published

Bengaluru: The office of the Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer has published the draft electoral rolls for the elections to 25 seats of the Karnataka Legislative Council to be held on December 10.

A total of 98,846 voters have been enlisted as the eligible voters in the biennial election to the Karnataka Legislative Council from 20 Local Authorities’ Constituencies for 25 MLC seats.

As per the draft electoral roll, there are 47,368 male, 51,474 female,  and three transgender voters.  with 98, 846 voters. It is proposed to set up 6,073 polling stations for the elections.

The electoral rolls are available in the office of the District Election Officers and on their website and also in all the Panchayat Raj institutions and Urban Local Bodies.

The claims and objections may be filed to the concerned Election Registration Officer within seven days from the date of publication of draft rolls by the EROs, said Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer Manoj Kumar Meena in a press release.
