Puttur: Police arrest two for helping POCSO Act accused to flee

Puttur: Two people were arrested by the personnel of the women’s police station for helping POCSO Act accused to flee.

The arrested are Ganesh from Ujire and Lingappa from Mudigere.

The duo have been accused of helping Raju Hosmath, leader of a Dalit organization, who has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, to escape.

A case had been registered against Raju Hosmath a few days back, relating to sexually harassing a girl belonging to his own community. After the case was filed, he went underground.
