An incident from six years ago is being remembered, and it’s going viral for all the right reasons. Lauren Sylvia, a London native, had a date six years ago. After the date had run its course, it came to a close with a dialogue that has gone viral on social media. Lauren was asked to pay her date back for the coffee, and he even provided his bank account information.

Lauren recently posted screenshots from the exchange.

She wrote, “Six years since that lad tried to invoice me for a s**t date.”

Lauren shared a chat with a man who asks if they can meet again.

“It was wonderful to meet you but not sure we had that spark,” Lauren politely objected.

The man volunteered to make supper and implored Lauren to “give us a chance” after seeing his case fall apart.

This was followed by a few more verbal persuasion attempts before the man gave up and demanded the £3.50 (about Rs.350) he had spent on coffee. “OK, fair enough,” he wrote.

“Can you pay me back for your coffee? I do not like wasting money. I prefer to use it on a date with some else.”

Lauren, perplexed by the scenario, consented to pay the money, but with a catch. She proposed that she contribute the money to his preferred charity.

She wrote, “How about I donate £3.50 to a charity of your choice to give you a chance to regain some decorum?” She even offered to “bump it up to £5” to cover for the man’s bus journey.

Lauren revealed the entire discussion six years later, bringing the conversation to a close.

Sharing the last screenshot, she wrote, “Forgot to add his final response.”

The tweet has received over 3000 likes since it was shared, and netizens are enthralled by the plot that has emerged in the dialogue.
