Senior scholar Prof. KS Narayanacharya no more!

Bengaluru: Senior scholar Prof. K S Narayanacharya has passed away at the age of 88.
Known as Ramayanacharya for his scholarly command over the Ramayana epic, Prof. Narayanacharya has received many titles and honors for his services to Indian literature and spirituality through scholarly works, speeches, and discourses.
Prof Narayanacharya was born in 1933 in the Vaidic family of Sri Vaishnava in Kanakapura. He has written several books including Sri Mahabharata Paatra Prapancha, Sri Ramayana Paatra Prapancha, Shri Ramayanada Mahaprasangagalu etc. He also gave lectures and discourses on Ramayana in Kannada, English, and Tamil languages.
He was also known by several titles such as ‘Vidvanmani’, ‘Vedabhushan’, ‘Valmiki Hridayajna’, ‘Ramayanacharya’ and ‘Mahabharatacharya’. In 2008, Prof KSN was awarded the Karnataka Rajyotsava Award, the second-highest civilian honor of the state.
CM offers condolences
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai condoled the death of Prof Narayanacharya. In a post on Koo App, CM said Prof KSN’s demise has caused immense loss to the Kannada literature.
