Bantwal: The induction of rival-Congress leaders into the BJP was too much for some local party workers. During the induction ceremony here, the disgruntled party workers raised slogans opposing congress leaders’ induction.
At the Legislative Council election campaign meeting held at Kabaka on Monday, former leader of opposition of Vittal town panchayat Ashok Kumar Shetty and vice president of Manila gram panchayat Rajesh Kumar Balekallu officially joined the BJP. Incidentally, Rajesh Balekallu was expelled from Congress.
Prominent leaders of the party including BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel, minister S Angara, MLC candidate, Puttur MLA Sanjeeva Matandoor, and BJP district president Sudarshan were present for the ceremony.
However, some local party workers were not happy about the induction of Rajesh Balekallu into the BJP fold. They raised slogans against the move, causing embarrassment to the senior party leaders.
