Mysore: The lifeless body of an ex-serviceman was found in a parked car on Adichunchanagiri road near Kuvempu Nagar here on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Raj Kumar (40), a resident of Jayanagar in Mysuru. He is suspected to have died on Saturday, but the mortal remains were discovered only on Monday, sources said.

Raj Kumar had been missing since Saturday. After he did not return home, his family called his phone but found it to be switched off. They also searched for him for two days. They located his car parked near Dosa Corner on Monday and found that he had collapsed inside the car.

The police arrived at the scene and unlocked the car with a set of duplicate keys. Later it was confirmed that he was dead.

Police also recovered several alcohol bottles from the car. Police suspect that the victim might have died due to an alcohol overdose or by asphyxiation as all doors and windows were tightly shut.

A case has been registered at the Kuvempu Nagar police station.
