Koppal: Villagers of Koppal town in Karnataka pitched in to organize a play to help a musician raise funds for his daughter’s wedding.

Shivaraj Hugar, a harmonium player, faced financial difficulties following the COVID-19 lockdown.

To help him, villagers organized a play titled ‘Maiduna Tanda Mangalaya’ on December 7 and invited philanthropists in a bid to contribute to his cause.

People from neighbouring districts of Gadag and Ballari had also arrived to watch the show and have requested for the play to be arranged in their respective districts as well.

It is said that the organizers were able to collect around Rs 11 lakh within a single show. Also, the 12 artists who played various roles in the drama contributed Rs 3,000 each for the cause.
