Davanagere: Despite calls for stringent actions in the recent incident of a teacher being bullied by the students, the teacher chose to forgive them unconditionally. This magnanimous gesture changed the hearts of the teenagers who in turn, pleaded to be forgiven, ending the episode.

It may be recalled that a viral video showing a few SSLC students of a government high school in Nalloor village harassing their teacher, Prakash Bogar. The unruly students were seen hitting the senior teacher and covering his face with a trash can, all while the class was going on.

The disruptive and rowdy behavior had attracted widespread condemnation. Many voiced their shock at the disgusting behavior shown by the pupils towards their guru. Some even demanded the arrest of the students involved in the incident.

MLA Madalu Virupakshappa, who arrived at the village, met Prakash Bogar and promised strict action against the students involved. However, the teacher refused the suggestion and chose to forgive them instead. He reasoned that the teenagers were young and did not know the repercussions of their actions. He even urged people not to punish them or file cases as it would harm the future of the youngsters, sources said.

Moved by the compassion shown by the teacher, accepted their mistake and bowed at his feet, seeking his forgiveness.
