Bengaluru: Condemning the act of smearing black ink on MES (Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti) leader Deepak Dalvi’s face, the Shiv Sena activists on Wednesday set the Kannada flag on fire in Maharashtra.

Expressing anguish over the incident, Sandalwood celebs and politicians have demanded strict action against the accused.

Sandalwood actors Darshan, Shivarajkumar and Prajwal Devaraj urged the government to arrest the miscreants who burnt the Kannada flag.

The actors who tweeted in Kannada also demanded the release of pro-Kannada activists.

Meanwhile, Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has also urged the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray to take stern action against the accused.

Taking to twitter, he wrote,” Kannada flag, which is revered & approved by all Kannadigas, is our pride & identity. Insulting Kannada flag is insulting Karnataka & the emotions of Kannadigas. I urge Maharashtra CM to immediately arrest the anti-social elements who burnt our Kannada flag.”
