New Delhi: In a major twist in the Sheena Bora murder case, jailed former media executive Indrani Mukerjea has reportedly written a letter to the CBI stating that Sheena is alive.

Indrani, who happens to be the mother of Sheena is the prime accused in the sensational murder case.

In the letter, Indrani has reportedly claimed a prison inmate told her that she saw Sheena in Kashmir and thus has asked the agency to investigate the matter.

There was no independent confirmation from the CBI about the letter. Indrani’s lawyers could not be contacted.

Sheena Bora was allegedly strangled in a car on April 24, 2012. Her body was burnt and dumped in a forest in Pen taluk. Indrani Mukerjea, was arrested in 2015 after the case came to light when Sheena’s body was found on May 23, 2012. Apart from Indrani, her first husband Sanjeev Khanna, her second husband and media tycoon Peter Mukerjea are also accused in the case.

Peter, who has separated from Indrani, is currently on bail.
