Mangaluru: MLA Vedavyas Kamath lays foundation for construction of jetty at Bengre

Mangaluru: MLA Vedavyasa Kamath on Saturday laid the foundation stone for the construction of the jetty for anchoring traditional boats at Bengre. The jetty is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.70 crore.
The fishermen had been demanding a jetty to anchor the traditional crafts for many years as traditional fishermen use gill nets during fishing and without a jetty, they were struggling to anchor their boats at Bengre.
A separate jetty for anchoring traditional boats will benefit the owners immensely.
MLA Kamath also conducted Bhoomi pooja for the skill development center for minorities.
