Bengaluru: Woman loses Rs 45,000 ordering coconuts online

Bengaluru: A phone number got from a google search for ordering coconuts led to a Bengaluru woman losing Rs 45,000. The woman has filed a complaint with the CEN police station here.
Based on the complaint, police have filed cases against two persons, named Mallikarjuna and Mahesh, for cheating.
The woman from Vimanapura, who runs a shop, wanted to find traders who could supply coconuts in bulk. After a quick google search, the phone number of MAllikarjun from RMC yard in Mysuru. The woman called up Mallikarjun and fixed up a deal. However, Mallikarjun demanded that the full amount be paid in advance. The woman promptly transferred Rs 45,000 through Google Pay as advance payment to a bank account provided by the accused.
However, even after a long time passed, the consignment never arrived at the shop.
Finally, the woman went to the address in Mysuru to get hold of the accused. But, it was revealed that there was no person named Mallikarjun there. When she called up Mallikarjun, he said the shop is located in Pandavapura and not at RMC Yard. But he could not be found there either.
Realizing that she had been cheated woman finally lodged a complaint with the CEN police station.
