Quarrying activities around Karinjeshwar temple: HJV holds protest march

Mangaluru: Demanding a permanent ban on quarrying and mining activities near Karinjeshwara temple, Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) held a protest march towards the DC’s office on Tuesday December 21.
It may be recalled that the rampant stone quarrying activities led to collapse of temple compound wall of the temple. The HJV members had last month staged a protest at Bantwal against the quarrying activities alleging that it posed a danger to the temple structure.
Rajashekarananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Math, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Sharan Pumpwell and Nagasadhu Vitala Giri Maharaj participated in the protest.
