Bhasker Shetty murder case: K’taka High Court grants bail to wife Rajeshwari Shetty

Udupi: The Karnataka High Court has granted bail to Rajeshwari Shetty, the main accused in the Udupi businessman, Bhasker Shetty’s murder case.

The Udupi District and Sessions Court had on June 8 sentenced Rajeshwari Shetty, her son Navneet Shetty and astrologer Niranjan Bhat to life imprisonment for murdering NRI businessman Bhaskar Shetty, five years ago.

Following this, Rajeshwari had filed the application on July 5, and Navneet, on July 7. Now, a division bench headed by G Narender has granted bail to Rajeshwari Shetty.

Bhasker Shetty was murdered and his dead body was burned in a homa kunda (ritual fireplace) in 2016.

Shetty’s wife Rajeshwari, son Navneet Shetty and Rajeshwari’s lover Niranjan Bhat were the three main accused of the murder.

The fourth accused, Niranjan Bhat’s father Srinivas Bhat, died from an illness. While the fifth accused driver Raghavendra was acquitted.
