Hubballi: Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi denied the rumors about discussions in the BJP high command about replacing Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. There has been no discussion at the high level on the issue of change of chief minister in the state, he told reporters here on Saturday.

Joshi’s statement assumes significance in view of the rumors that have spread in political circles about the possibility of the chief minister being changed in the state.

“Nobody has mentioned about changing the current chief minister. There has been no talk at the high command level about it,” he said adding that the BJP will “fight the next elections under Bommai’s leadership.”

CM Basavaraj Bommai had on Friday had clarified he was not going abroad for knee surgery, putting an end to the debate that the CM would be changed while he was abroad. With Joshi’s clarification on the matter, it remains to be seen if the buzz would die down.
