K’taka PU board issues order to conduct Surya Namaskar in all colleges

Bengaluru: Karnataka Pre-university Education department has directed all PU colleges in the state to hold Surya Namaskar programme from January 1 to February 7.
The department has also ordered the colleges authorities to get the same done with music on January 26.
As per the order by the department, all the lecturers, teachers, principal, students, non-teaching staff should participate in the activity. Later, details of the should be submitted to the educational wing of the PU board.
The Central educational department had asked all the state education boards to hold Surya Namaskar in its letter dated December 16.
According to the instructions of the center out of the total 38 days between January 1 and February 7, Surya Namaskar should be done during morning assembly on 21 days. National Yogasana Sports will give an E-certificate to those who have completed 273 Surya Namaskars in 21 days.
National Yogasana Sports Federation had written a letter on December 9 to organize Surya Namaskar as part of 75th year Independence celebration of the country. The federation has decided to get 75 crore Surya Namasakar done by three lac students of 30,000 institutes in 30 states of the country.
