Mangaluru: ‘Sadhane Sambhrama – 2021’ inaugurated

Mangaluru: ‘Sadhane Sambhrama – 2021’, a convention of district journalists was inaugurated at a town hall in the city.

Speaking after the inauguration MLA Vedavyasa Kamath said that the role of journalists in building a healthy society is enormous.

“Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists’ Association is doing a noteworthy job. The village stay (Grama Vastavya) programme of the association is an inspiration to people representatives and the government. It has given a model with unique ‘Brand Mangaluru’. During Corona pandemic journalists have risked their lives,” said Kamath.

Meanwhile, city police commissioner N Shashi sang the song ‘Sirigannadam Gelge’ and wished the programme all the best.

Sadhane, a special souvenir, which involves the three years of developments undertaken by the district journalists’ association was released by president of International Bunts’ Federation, Aikala Harish Shetty.

Photo exhibition of Manohar Prasad was released by Ganesh Rao, president of Karavali group of educational institutions.

KEONICS president Harikrishna Bantwal distributed books to students of Madappady school. Mayor Premananda Shetty distributed uniforms to students of Kutloor school.

Member of state executive committee of working journalists Bala Jagannath Shetty welcomed the gathering. Srinivas Nayak Indaje, president of the association did the introductory speech. Ibrahim Adkasthala, chief secretary of the association rendered the vote of thanks.

The programme was compered by former president of the association P B Harish Rai.

Former president of Patrikabhavana Ananda Shetty, president of Patrika Bhavana Ramakrishna R, Mangaluru Press club president Annu Mangaluru and chief secretary Mohammed Arif Moodbidri were also present.
