Bengaluru: Karnataka Congress President D.K. Shivakumar lost his cool on a party supporter who tried to come close to him for clicking a selfie.
The incident took place during the Congress foundation Day at Shivapura in Mandya. In a video of the incident, the Congress leader can be heard scolding the man while grabbing his mobile phone.
Later he sought to defend his act by citing the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
“You know what happened to Rajiv Gandhi. Sometimes, human anger and emotions come out, nothing wrong in that,” Shivakumar was quoted as saying by ANI.

This is the second such incident in recent months where DK Shivakumar displayed his aversion to selfies. A couple of months ago, he had slapped another supporter, who wanted to click a selfie with him. The state Congress chief had then said that “he is a close relative”.
