Weekend curfew in DK: Bus transport allowed; school, colleges closed

Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra KV issued guidelines for weekend curfew in Dakshina Kannada.
The weekend curfew will begin in the district this week following the new guidelines.
Addressing presspersons DC said that night curfew will be imposed from Friday 8 pm till Monday 5 am.
The district administration has allowed bus transport during the weekend curfew.
Shops selling essential commodities are allowed to open.
The DC appealed to the public to buy essential commodities from shops near their residence and to avoid unnecessary traveling to contain the spread of the virus.
The DC also directed officials to grant holidays to the schools and colleges during the weekend curfew. “Students who have to appear for the exams can travel along using their examination hall ticket.
Marriages and religious programmes which are already scheduled are allowed to take place as per the guidelines of the state government. Only 200 people can take part in these programmes.
