Bengaluru: Techie lured with investing into bitcoins, loses Rs 13.7 lakh

Bengaluru: A 31-year-old engineer from Bengaluru lost Rs 13.7 lakh after being lured into investing in bitcoins.

The victim Erappa Naik claimed that he was duped between October 11 and December 15.

The techie alleged that he was added to an unknown WhatsApp group wherein the group’s members shared information about the bitcoin transaction process and even asked him to invest in the same to earn a huge profit.

In order to extract more amount, the gang members informed him that they had earned huge profits from the investment that he had made.

Subsequently, he invested Rs 13,04,262 and got cheated.

A case has been registered.
