Mangaluru/Udupi: Life was almost paralyzed in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district on Saturday due to the implementation of a weekend curfew.

The weekend curfew begins from 10 pm on Friday and will last till 5 am on Monday. Essential services were allowed to operate in both the districts. Despite public vehicles, including buses, were allowed to run, traffic was scarce. There was also little public movement.

No complaints were reported about any issues in holding pre-planned private ceremonies, including weddings. Since there is no rule to obtain permission for holding a program, no information is available as to how many programs were held.
