In a shocking incident, a man allegedly strangled his 9-year-old son to death after he failed to find his mobile phone.
Police have arrested the accused Mukesh Batham on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder on Wednesday after an FIR was lodged in the case.
On Tuesday night, Mukesh is said to have returned home in a drunken stupor. He forgot where he had kept his mobile phone and asked his son, Mithun to find it. However, when Mithun was unable to locate his phone Mukesh got angry and strangled him to death. The brutal crime was witnessed by the victim’s little sister Palak, who started crying.
After hearing her cries, her grandparents reached there but Mithun was dead by that time and Mukesh had fled from the house.
A complaint in this regard was lodged by the victim’s grandfather Lakhan Singh.
The complainant told police that owing to his son’s drinking issues his wife had left their house with four of the couple’s children eight months ago. Mithun and Palak had been staying with their father.
