The death of a 40-year-old man has turned out to be a case of murder. Police have arrested the man’s wife, her lover, and her mother in connection with the case.

The deceased identified as Raghavendra (40), a resident of Karenahalli in Doddaballapura Town was originally thought to have died of a head injury that he sustained after collapsing due to a seizure. Shylaja, her lover Hanumantha, and her mother Lakshmidevamma have been arrested in the case.

On December 27, Shylaja had contacted her husband’s younger brother Chandrashekhar to inform him about Raghavendra’s death. The deceased’s family believed Shylaja when he told them that he suffered an epileptic attack and fell, injuring his head. Raghavendra body was cremated the same day.

However, the actual truth became known when Raghavendra’s father asked his grandson to tell him what happened that night. The boy mentioned that he had seen her mother’s friend at home at that time.

Based on his revelations, Chandrashekar visited the factory where the deceased was employed. As the factory was located close to Raghavendra’s house, Chandrashekar sought to check their CCTV footage for any clues. It was found that a man had entered their house that day.

Later Chandrashekar lodged a murder complaint against Shylaja with the police. Later Raghavendra’s family members again asked the boy to narrate what had happened that night. The boy revealed that his father was pinned down by his mother and grandmother while a stranger was hitting his father’s head with a rolling pin until he died.

The boy screamed out of fright upon noticing the incident. However, the stranger thrashed the boy and threatened to kill him if he revealed the truth to anyone.

Shylaja was detained for questioning based on the boy’s testimony and she confessed to committing the crime as her husband objected to her relationship with Hanumantha. They then sought help from Lakshmidevamma as she was not very fond of her son in-law.
