TT Waste collectors in Bengaluru have appealed to residents to segregate their waste at home and dispose of their medical waste separately.
The waste collectors, who are working under the BBMP, claimed that they find 1,000 to 2,000 masks every day.
The BBMP on Thursday issued an order directing housing societies to segregate their waste for disposal.
The advisory read, “The housing societies should follow segregated waste disposal with one fixed place identified and used for dumping waste in separate bins. Common groups (WhatsApp, Telegram etc) of resident welfare associations (RWAs) could be used to encourage for spreading awareness.”
