Bengaluru: A woman was allegedly beaten by her husband and family members stripped and thrashed her for stopping them from giving alcohol to her 3-year old child. The victim has filed a complaint with the Basaveshwarnagar Police Station against five persons, including her husband in this regard.

The 26-year-old victim, a resident of Kurubarahalli identified the accused as her husband Sunil Kumar, mother-in-law Malliga, father-in-law Palani, brother-in-law Shant Kumar and his wife Sarita. All the accused are residents of Kamalanagar.

As per the complaint, the victim married Sunil Kumar in 2018 and the couple has a three-year-old son.

Recently, Sunil who was partying with his family offered alcohol to the 3-year-old child and the victim objected to this. Angered by this, Sunil Kumar along with his family members stripped the woman and beat her up. The woman’s father-in-law Palani and brother-in-law Shant Kumar behaved rudely and even touched her private parts. She was also suggested to get into bed with them, the complainant claimed.

The complaint further said that Sunil had an illicit relationship with his sister-in-law Sarita. When the victim told Shant Kumar and her in-laws about it, she was told to compromise. Thereafter she brought the matter to the attention of her parents who admonished Sunil and forced him to move to a separate house in KR Puram.

However, Sunil still continued his bad habits and brought friends to the house for parties, the woman said.
